Yesterday’s cancellation of the first two weeks of the NBA season was a devastating blow to anybody and everybody who loves the NBA. It’s been said that a lockout never starts until games are missed – well…
With that said, Kings restricted free agent Marcus Thornton has been the topic of conversation in the past few months for a few foreign teams, but Thornton has shunned away from those options given his current contractual situation. Finally able to secure a hefty, long term deal – it made little sense for the Kings gunner to head overseas with the hope/feeling that the lockout would be resolved. Risking an injury simply wasn’t worth the small payday he’d receive. But now, with no end in sight and more and more players becoming open to the idea, it appears Thornton might be thinking a little harder about his future with thanks to the Bee’s Jason Jones:
I just spoke to Marcus Thornton who said he’s playing the lockout situation “by ear” but said overseas is still an option.
And here was Thornton’s initial reaction:
U can’t be serious first 2 weeks canceled mannnn we really just want to get back to doing what we do best and what we love
