Last evening, the hyped Team Baltimore versus Team Philly pickup game took place which we told you about a few weeks back when Carmelo announced the event. The game, dubbed “Battle Of I-95″ didn’t really stick true to it’s name as guys like Chris Paul and Lebron James added their talents to Team Baltimore, but even they couldn’t stop Tyreke Evans and Team Philly as they took the tilt, 131-122.
Donte Greene finished the night with 9 points and a game leading three blocks, Jason Thompson with 7 points and Tyreke Evans with 18.
The highlight of the night, at least for fans of the purple and black, was a late dribbling exhibition put on by Evans who crossed over Denver Nugget Gary Forbes, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Evans then blew by Forbes (who later claimed he “slipped”), layed it in, then promptly got his swag on, shoving the ball in Forbes’ face.
SI.com did a fantastic job of coverage and the players put on one hell of an event – easily one of the best pickup games of the offseason.
