I know many don’t like the attacking and/or romantic novel styles of Ailene Voisin (and who am I to blame you) – but she as a solid piece on Vlade Divac from today’s online edition of the Bee.
Together with Stojakovic, Chris Webber, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie, Mike Bibby and Hedo Turkoglu, he helped transform the Kings from quaint small-market phenomenon to ratings darlings and international celebrities.
In Paris and Athens, and particularly Belgrade, if you mentioned the Kings, basketball fans would recite the roster – no last names necessary.
“We had great years,” Divac said the other day, “best years of my (NBA) career. And the fans were unbelievable to me.”
It’s slow – King news is as frequent as the taco truck stopping at Mt. Everest’s peak, so hopefully this tickles your purple and black fancy for now.
