It seems that Kings small forward Omri Casspi doesn’t take the recent Knicks trade rumors too seriously as he posted this gem on his twitter account a few hours ago:
Sacramento traded me to the Israeli Air Force……
Rumors broke yesterday (if you can even call them that…) that the Knicks (who’ve been long interested in the Israeli sharpshooter) were in discussions to exchange Toney Douglas and three million in cash for Casspi. Casspi made waves late in the season as his playing time decreased in an interview with website One, talking about how he might need to move on and that he “had some decisions to make”.
As to the rumors – I can’t buy into them. That’s not to say Casspi isn’t available, he certainly might be, but for that small of a price tag? He holds more value than a cash swap and a mid-level bench player.
Maybe they’ll bump up the offer and include Jarred Jeffries for our Samuel Dalembert too, eh? Har. Har.
