Do you know what .084 stands for?
If you guessed the blood alcohol level of Eric Musselman, you’re close – but wrong (well, actually maybe not wrong…). In fact, 8.4 was the percentage the Kings had of selecting 7th in the 2011 NBA Draft. The Kings actually had a higher percentage of picking 1st than 7th (8.8%). And if you missed it – yes snowflakes, that’s where we’re drafting. Seventh.
Three times since 2002, the 5th worst record in the NBA was selected to pick number 1. Pretty good ratio, given the circumstances. But this year? Nah – we move backwards. Cause hey – what else do the Kings do in the lotto?
I guess if there is a silver lining, it’s that the coin toss the Kings “won” with the New Jersey Nets (since both teams finished the year with identical records – and the Nets pick goes to Utah) worked out well……….for the Jazz.
The Jazz will select third. The spot the Kings would be in, without “winning” the coin flip.
I hate the lotto. Tis all.
