Former Bee columnist Scott Howard-Cooper is reporting that Tyreke Evans may begin skipping games to deal with his numerous injuries. This right on the heals of the Hassan Whiteside to the D-League move makes it TWO, count ‘em, TWO smart moves in the past week by the Kings. Sweet Jesus, go buy a lotto ticket!!
In all seriousness though, being that Evans is dealing with a bum elbow, jacked up ankles, and a vile case of plantaar fasciitis, this makes all the sense in the world to me. Clearly Evans has been hampered with the injuries and there are even rumors that Tyreke may need to start wearing a walking boot, so dicking around with this for nothing other than pride seems a bit careless to me.
Be it five…ten…whatever number of games it takes, let it heal up and then get back on the court. Watching him limp around and not give a full effort is sad, and not to mention, going 4 of 14 with some careless turnovers, non-existent ball movement and spotty defense isn’t exactly helping the Kings either. Give the kid a rest.
