As The Kings Turn - Whiteside To D-League/Cousins Kicked Out

You know, never ever did I think I’d be covering a soap opera this season. A young, mildly improving team? Yes. A dysfunctional soap opera that makes Jerry Springer salivate? No.

I knew DeMarcus Cousins would have his moments – I wasn’t too worried about that. But it’s getting worse and Westphal’s control over this team is about as solid as a bowl of jiggling jello. Which leads me to the report by the Bee’s Jason Jones that Cousins was kicked out of practice earlier today. No reason was given for the removal, but, I’d guess it would have to do with Cousins being a dickhead and/or lazy. I’m pretty sure I’ve covered my ass there with both options. (*edit* Jesus with a keyboard, also known as Sam Amick, made mention of some heated arguments between Westphal and Cousins earlier today. Probably over a game of Scrabble or something. That shit can fire you up!)

In addition to the Cousins drama, James Ham over at Cowbell Kingdom mentions that everybody’s favorite swat machine, Hassan Whiteside, has been sent to the D-League which appears to be the first move the Kings have made in months that makes any actual sense. And because of that, I have a strong sense of skepticism. Clearly, some how, some way, this will fuck us in the ass for no other reason than pure spite.

Last but not least, as was reported earlier this morning, Carl Landry indeed has been demoted to the bench.

Your guess is as good as mine. And I couldn’t help but crack up at the fact of Landry posting the news on his twitter. I wasn’t sure if it was in a sarcastic “holy shit, you’re fucking with me” tone or a “holy shit you crazy SOB, you’re fucking with me” tone.

Maybe Westphal is going to bring another dead horse from Seattle in. Vin Baker to the four spot! Free booze and hookers for all…well, cept Baker. It’s court ordered and shit. You know how it is, playa.
