Just a quick note for those who aren’t in the Sacramento area and don’t get to watch the Kings often (or for those who’ve yet to witness the super-human we call Tyreke Evans)…the Kings/Spurs game will be on NBAtv tonight. The game starts at 7pm Pacific time.
In addition to tonight being a nationally televised game, it’s also Bobby Jackson night, as the Kings will honor the one time King super-sub and current “front office” member…and also favorite of mine. For all the hype Peja and Chris got….for all of the praise Vlade was given…and for all of the Sportscenter air-time Jason Williams was awarded with, it was Bobby Jackson who made King games just that extra special for me. So, I’m glad to see the franchise honoring a guy who was just as important to the franchise and community as any player in the Sacramento tenure.
A quick update on Spencer Hawes – Jason Jones spoke to Spencer this past Saturday and Hawes informed him that the Kings would prefer he just rest to avoid an operation on his knee. Hopefully the “rest” and “relaxation” wont leak into summer as Hawes seriously needs to improve his off-season workouts. He screwed up royally this past off-season and going into a contract year, it’s his last chance most likely to do the right thing while wearing purple and black.
In other news, Jimmy Spencer, who covers the Kings for the NBA wrote a fantastic piece on Tyreke Evans that is well worth your time, so, give it a read.
