Sacramento Kings News & Notes

  • The Sacramento Kings came to terms with former Houston Rocket Garrett Temple. The Kings and Temple agreed to a 10 day contract to provide some guard depth (I guess? Temple is known for his solid, nagging defense and was a fan favorite in Houston during his short stay. He’s the all time leader in minutes at LSU.
  • Omri Casspi might have finally hit the rookie wall and he might be the first to admit it. Omri admitted he’s been having a difficult time with the grinding NBA schedule on his website the other day:
  • On a personal level, I feel that after 60 games my body is already beginning to signal cumulative fatigue. The fatigue is both physical and mental. I really try to rest as much as possible in order to refresh and get my energy back, and clean up and prepare for the next game, but it’s really very difficult. I have never been in a situation like this (playing so many games). Sometimes it has been difficult to get up off the bench after a Time Out.

I have to give a last hard push towards the end of the season. After this season I see how demanding the NBA is. I see how much you need to prepare for the long season and how experienced players know how to pace themselves.
I need to learn from them. I believe in the end it will be fine

  • In other news, a night after a crushing defeat in Oklahoma City, the Kings turned around and beat the Kevin Martin led Houston Rockets and did so in quite an unusual way. Despite shooting only 32% for the game (yes, you read that right…all the masturbation hasn’t turned on your eyes yet)…and getting 9 of their shots blocked, the Kings eked out a three point victory. The Kings destroyed the Rockets on the glass and out-hustled them throughout the night, snagging 24 offensive rebounds.
