If the Kings ever had a shot at winning a road game, it’s tonight. According to Bleed Black And Purple, both of Utah’s stars will be MIA from tonight’s action, Boozer due to injury and Williams due to a personal matter (funeral).
Also of note? The Kings will attempt to tie their win total from all of last season, as Bleed Black And Purple mentions:
Assuming that either Kevin Martin regains his old form, or Paul Westphal yanks him from the starting lineup, the Kings should (I repeat, should) be able to top that 17-win season in the near future.
I myself and given up on trying to predict this team. I honestly have no clue if the Kings go into Utah tonight and win by 17 or get drilled out of the gym by 27. And that is the problem with this team – no consistency. Spencer Hawes admitted it in his recent Sacramento Bee interview – Jason Thompson and Kevin Martin fully display it – and Coach Westphal sugar coats it.
In addition to the recommended reading from Bleed Black And Purple, Tom Ziller of Sactown Royalty has a solid piece on Spencer Hawes and his shortcomings, despite Mr. Hawes feelings of being successful in the NBA.
Cause hey – when I think successful? I think of being a part time starter on one of the worst teams in the league and losing that starting gig to a guy who most likely doesn’t get drafted if the Kings don’t take a chance on him.
I wonder what type of award you get for that?! Do tell Spence – do tell.
