While it’s not set in stone, the Sacramento Bee is reporting that Kings star shooting guard Kevin Martin is due to return in about three weeks. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI this Friday to make sure the bone is healing correctly, and if all looks good, Martin is expected to return on December 30th against Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers, in Sacramento…which happens to be right at the starting period of a rough outlook of games.
“I’ll get back out there and everybody has got to keep playing their same game,” he said. “I’m not a guy who gets the ball and dribbles a lot. I’m not a dominant player with the ball. I get my points in the flow, so there shouldn’t really be any change.
“I’ll be back when we’re at the meat of the schedule. … We need to get as many wins as we can now, and then by the time we get healthy we’ll be able to knock teams off like the Mavericks, be competitive with the Lakers and knock off teams like the Trail Blazers and the Spurs. It’ll be good.”
He can’t get back soon enough.
