This is not Greg Oden.
Well, it was nice to see some basketball last night. Wait. I couldn’t see jack shit thanks to News 10, Comcast, and the Kings. And even better, I couldn’t even listen to it without paying an ass-chewing amount thanks to NBA.com since I already threw down $200 bucks to watch the Kings on League Pass. So much for being a fan and wanting to support your team eh? The annual $500 bucks I thrown down on them simply isn’t enough to watch a meaningless, boring, preseason game. Silly me.
As to the game, the Kings played well for the first half keeping up with the high powered Blazers, even leading late in the 2nd quarter. Jason Thompson and Tyreke Evans both had strong first halfs but both cooled down in the 2nd as did the rest of the team.
The Blazers front line of Greg Oden and LaMarcus Aldridge abused the Kings on the defensive end (I’m sensing a problem…) with Oden going for 18 & 9 in limited action and Aldridge dumping in 20 points during his limited floor time.
The Kings only managed to shoot 37% for the game which was not helped by the combined efforts of Nocioni, Martin, and newcomer Sergio Rodriguez who combined to shoot 4 of 35 on the night.
A better effort from those three and the Kings might be returning to Sacramento, victory in hand.
The same two teams meet tonight at Arco – Game time is 7:00 PM.
