Well, first it was Beno…and now it’s Garcia. The Kings small forward fractured his right ring finger in the FIBA World Basketball Championships. If you remember, Garcia actually had the exact same injury this past season, which he broke against the Indiana Pacers. While it appears the Kings brass isn’t all that concerned with the longevity or seriousness of the injury, they have asked that Garcia shut it down and give it time to heal according to his Dominican teammate and current Detroit Piston, Charlie Villaneuva.
Garcia played through the injury last season (for the most part), and while his production did slip – at least he could still play. So given a few weeks for recovery, I suspect all will be fine. He better hope so. He’s got a few small forwards nipping at his spot.
